A collapsible kick scooter made of lightweight aluminum is the modern day version of the wooden scooter, originally labelled a push scooter. The scooter remains an excellent method of fun and exercise. Leg and foot power makes the scooter go as fast the rider chooses. Once is in motion, the second foot can be lifted and placed on the scooter deck. It takes balance and strength to remain in motion and a foot brake is easily engaged to slow down and stop. Today’s scooters can be easily folded for transport and storage, then unfolded for immediate use. Fitting into small spaces is an advantage of a kick scooter over a bicycle and other forms of transportation.
Instructions
Step 1 Stand beside scooter facing side that has a small release lever near the point where the deck and the handlebar post meet. Step 2 Place foot on scooter deck. Grip handlebar post with one hand. Now push the release lever in what may seem to be the wrong direction. (Although the lever depression seems to be where the finger would fit, instead push with a finger against the outside of the depression curve.) Step 3 Move the handlebar post to the open or closed position, depending on its starting position. Step 4 If the lever doesn’t move immediately, wiggle the handlebar post gently while pushing the lever.
